Tips to look young and fresh in the morning
Do you have problems when you wake up in the morning, looking as though you have been tossing and turning in the bed the whole night? Well, you can rejoice now, I have just the best advice to look young and fresh in the morning by Monique Klein, owner of Monigue K. Skin Care Boutique. Monique says there are secrets you can learn to reduce puffy tired eyes, enlarged pores and even stubborn fine lines by morning. Bonus, you can also learn how to repair your skin in your sleep and as a preventive anti aging skincare regime too.
Eager to know what Monique has to say? Here are THE tips:
Tip #1
You always have to cleanse your face before hitting the bed EVERY NIGHT. Never ever sleep with still traces of makeup or even sunscreen on your face. The grime and dirt will clog your pores. Moreover, the dirt and grime will rub off on your pillow and it will aggravate your skin more as your face touches the pillow.
Tip #2
A good trick to have beautiful skin is to apply a facial mask twice every week. Try out these special facial masks to hydrate skin or to tighten up pores. Let the mask sit for about 10 - 20 mins or till it dries off. Next, don't cleanse your face with a cleanser, just wash it off with warm water.
Tip #3
Moisturize your face AND neck day and night. Apply moisturizer generously all over while massaging it in. Always apply moisturizer on a cleansed face. for the moisturizer to be absorbed well. As for bedtime, use a skin repairing moisturizer that is richer in texture. Try out Estee Lauder Nutitious Restorative Night Cream. Do not use a night cream for daytime use, as the texture is too thick and the repairing ingredients in it might heighten your skin's sensitivity to sun's UV rays.
Tip #4
Use an eye cream day and night. You can get a good retinol eye cream to protect the delicate eye area. To plump up fine lines and to repair damage on the sensitive eye skin.
Tip #5
Monique's best tip to look young and fresh involves how to lie down when we sleep. She suggests getting several firm pillows and stacking them up in a way that when you lie down, the pillows keep your upper torso slightly elevated. Think of it like how you will lie down on a first class cabin on the plane. It sounds out of this world, yes, but it helps to prevent fluids from pooling at the eye area. She promises you will wake up with not a sign of puffiness. Honestly.
Tip #6
Do not sleep on your side. It will cause puffiness as fluids pool to one side. Not only that, sleeping on your side causes creases on the face and as time goes by, turning them into fine lines and wrinkles. Sleep on your back if possible and Monique quipps, especially more so on the night before a big day out.
Tip #7
In the morning, wash your face gently with a mild cleanser. Harsh soap will dry out your skin. Lightly pat dry your face and immediately moisturize. Make sure there are sunscreen in your moisturizer too. Apply your eye cream too. It's very important to protect your eye area. Let your creams sit on your face at least 20 mins before you apply your makeup.
Tip #8
For special occasions, give your skin a boost by following this skin-friendly diet for 24 hours. Drink plenty of water, snack on spinach and fresh berries ( full of antioxidants) - be it strawberries, blackberries or blueberries. Blueberries are the best for your skin. Have a healthy piece of salmon for lunch or dinner. If you're vegetarian, take more flax seed oil and wheat germ oil that are both rich in Vitamin E and omega-3. These anti oxidants and omega-3 will plump up your skin cells and water will restore elasticity to your skin. Here are a list of friendly face food boosters that you can add to your food.
Now, there you go. Start to adopt a great night beauty regime in addition to your regular daily beauty regime
