Eyes - Asset or Woe?
Let's start with the eyes
, the first signs of aging usually appears on the eyes because we move it the most, even when we blink, we're actually causing fine lines to appear with continuous movements. We get angry, we laugh, or even wink and we're on the road to adding more wrinkles to the eye area. It is also very very delicate and the skin is very thin around the eyes, so any slight changes, such as your sleeping patterns, your nutrition and even on how stressful you are, it shows all in the eyes. As they say, the window to your soul - hell, it is. When you cry especially, gosh, I hate that the most, the eyes will carry the tell-tale signs first. Usually they would be puffy, swollen and/or red. That's really not a beautiful sight to behold. Therefore, I put alot of importance on eye areas.
Expert Opinion According to Dennis Gross, M.D., clinician at New York University Medical Center, world renowned dermatologist, and author of "Your Future Face", a high quality eye cream should be one of the necessary topicals in any anti-aging protocol. Facial moisturizers will NOT turn back the clock on aging or replace eye creams, they are merely an effective way to alleviate dry skin. You should find and use a product that contains active antiaging ingredients that does not add unnecessary oils to the skin. No eye product or cream should cause burning or stinging in the eye. If you experience these types of symptoms, discontinue use immediately.
The Myth Consumers think the more eye cream they apply, the better the product works; and the faster the results are seen. This is false. Use the amount directed on the product's label because the manufacturer has taken into account the effectiveness of the active ingredients and the directions are given given accordingly. The choices in eye creams can be overwhelming, especially in light of the fact that there are three main problems that these creams work to treat
dark eye circles, fine lines, and puffiness.
The Eye Cream Review
Nivea Visage - Anti wrinkle Q-10 Eye Treatment
Scientists of the NIVEA Laboratories have now developed the unique Q10 Energy Ccomplex composed of the skin's own actives. This new Q10 Energy Complex activates the skin's energy metabolism to continuously power the skin's own anti-wrinkle processes. Thus, the skin's ability to fight new and existing wrinkles is enhanced - for a proven visible reduction in the appearance of wrinkles.
In other words, Nivea is a pretty good choice, as the cream is not too invasive and not too rich. I have problems with some cream where it's too rich and makes my eyes puffy as it absorbs and retains too much moisture under my eyes. The texture of the cream is light, fast absorbing and doesnt clog up the pores under the eyes. It helps to plump up fine lines under the eye area and it's good to apply as a base coat before you apply your makeup. Helps to perfect fine lines and as a nourishing makeup base for your eyes too. It gets even better, the price is very much affordable too.
Active ingredients: Q10 energy complex
Rating: **** (Highly recommended)
Price Affordability: ***** (Very good affordable price)
Loreal Revitalift Eye Cream Anti Wrinkle & Firming Following advanced research, the Loreal laboratories have created revitalift eyes with active ingredients such as Nanosomes of Pro- rectinol A and with Par Elastyl for elasticity. This complete special eye cream is specially adpated to fighting the first signs of aging specific to the eye area with triple action: Firming, reducing wrinkles and reducing the appearance of eye bags.
Well, to me, Loreal's range of creams is not so suitable for me. It's alittle too rich and too sticky for my liking. Plus, I see not much or no changes to my eyes after finishing this cream. The cream is too thick and heavy for me, as I get some water retention under my eyes when I wake up after using it the night before. In other words, from my experience, better put some slices of cucumbers on the eyes off and on and have more regular sleep, it helps naturally :) it's redeeming point, it's quite cooling when you put the cream on the eyes and it does soothes tired eyes quite well, from my point of view.
Active ingredients: Nanosomes of Pro-Retinol A and Par Elastyl
Rating: ** (Not really recommended but you can try it out)
Price affordability: *** (It's moderately priced)
Body shop's camomile soothing eye serum
Witch hazel helps refresh eyes and reduce that puffy look; moisturisers soften and smooth. With camomile water, so soothing to tired eyes.
I like it, first because it is environmental friendly, all natural ingredients and its lightweight on the eyes. Also, it has a gentle cooling and soft feeling on tired eyes. Tired eyes instantly look refreshed and its good to dab alittle of the cream on your eyes when you need some perking up. It's not pricey too and the bottle is very handy for squeezing a small amount on your finger tips, instead of those jar types where you need to dip the fingers into the cream. Those are cumbersome when you have long nails and you tend to get cream under the nails.
Active ingredients: Organic camomile water and camomile essential oil, witch hazel and algae extract
Rating: **** (Highly recommended)
Price affordability: *** (You won't feel guilty buying it)
The sensitive skin around the eyes is particularly vulnerable to stress, time and the harmful effects of the environment - requiring special attention. The Eye Balm combines a triple concentration of Crème de la Mer's original Miracle Broth™ with marine extracts and advanced botanicals to dramatically diminish the appearance of lines, wrinkles and undereye discolorations as it soothes, smoothes and softens.
I love love love this cream. It's a miracle cream. I use it religiously now, day and nite after cleansing my face. It also aids in relieving a jet lagged face. The appearance of eye bags is diminished over time as you use it and the texture of the cream is velvety soft after applying it on the eye area. You can even apply makeup over it too. The skin underneath the eyes feel more taut and supple after prolonged use of this miracle cream. Unfortunately, it's really very expensive, but it is definitely the creme de la creme of all eye creams in the market to date. I've not used and tested all the available creams in the market, but La Mer has bowled me over and I swear by it.
Active ingredients: Marine extracts, Miracle broth (it's trademarked ingredient) and botanical extracts

Price affordability: ** (It's really very expensive but it's a good investment)
