Since When Did Panties Get Involved?

Yesterday, I was spending some time with my friend Miss Kenyah while tucking into some tapas. Naturally, with two women chatting, the beauty topic is never far away. Never have I thought that such a simple, common topic leaves me utterly disturbed. Really. Till now, it still baffles me.

It all started innocently, where Miss Kenyah was commenting about her family's live-in maid's skin. Apparently, this young girl, about 20 years old, has really clear and ridiculously smooth skin. So, I told her, "Miss Kenyah, it's not surprising. She's only 20 years old, we all had smooth skin then too. Remember those good old days when we're smooth and wrinkle-free" I chuckled. Miss Kenyah, still very serious, continued, "No, I'm dead serious. My maid's skin is crazily perfect. Even if I were to stare very closely at her face, there is not a pore nor bump in sight. Neither does she wear foundation at all." Hmm... the plot seems to thicken. That's ridiculously almost perfect skin! I'm intrigued now.

Eagerly, I enquired whether did she ask the maid for her beauty secret. Miss Kenyah said yes, but very sheepishly. While tucking into my tapas, I asked her to share the secret. I said it would be lovely to share with my readers in the blog. Again, Miss Kenyah gave me that sheepish look and said, "I'm telling you, you wouldn't like what you're gonna hear" I was like, "Oh, come on, if Demi Moore can put leeches to her face and Posh uses bird poo(to be exact, nightingale's poo) for her facials, what could shock me anymore?"

Then, Miss Kenyah, literally sighed and said it very slowly. This is exactly what she said, "My maid, she washes her face with her used underwear!" I almost had champignons shoot out of my nostrils. I'm not kidding you. I was like, "You're kidding me, your maid must be taking the mickey out of you. She's seriously just screwing up your mind."

Miss Kenyah said again, "I didn't believe her, so I've even spied on her through the back window. She really does use her used underwear. First, she washes her underwear with water but not with soap. Then she proceeds to clean her face with the same underwear. I swear to u, I've seen it with my own eyes!" We just sat there baffled and probably shuddered alittle.

After recovering from my shock, I asked, "So, does she use her underwear everyday to wash her face? Does she need to follow her menstrual cycle for her unusual ritual or it's just everyday washing the face with her used underwear?" Miss Kenyah said that she will ask her maid again.

Deep down, we are just more curious than ever. I don't think the both of us would be following that beauty ritual as it's just too bizarre for us to contemplate. It's so true, everyday you just learn something new. Anyone up for this? We would love to know the outcome.
