Summer Must-have Sunscreen: Monday Discoveries
Just when you think I've abandoned my mantra on looking after my skin, fear not ladies, I've generously lathered on sun screen on my face and my entire body (2 different sunscreens, one sunscreen/moisturizer for the face and another sunscreen for the body, of course). I especially took special care to apply more moisturizer/sunscreen around the eye areas. These places are so sensitive and the first signs to show aging! But, be very careful that moisturizer/sun screen doesn't go into your eyes, they burn real good. Yikes! I religiously put on this sunscreen at least 30 mins before I hit the sun. I reapply after I've swam and I was meticulous in my sunscreen regime throughout the entire time I was under the sun.
For me, I'm quite lucky coz I don't get freckles or sun spots easily. So, it's quite hard to tell whether a sunscreen/moisturizer is really working on me or not. Also, my skin type tans very easily so it's even harder to tell whether my moisturizer/sunscreen's doing its job well. However, there is only one way to tell whether my moisturizer/sunscreen's working or not. That's by looking at the texture of my skin. Usually, after long hours under the sun, my skin dries up real bad to the point that they look parched. And these parched areas are almost always around the eye areas. You can imagine how terrible that looks like.
But, to my complete surprise, my face spots that unmistakeable tell-tale sign of too much time under the sun - read: gorgeous tan BUT minus the horrible dryness! I'm totally stoked. I do not have any visible signs of sun spots nor freckles. My skin is smooth and supple AND I have a gorgeous tan. To be honest, I've been spending even more time under the sun this summer but without taking it's toll on my skin. I'm over the moon, ladies. My moisturizer/sunscreen really works and it's the best I've ever used!
For those who are sceptical, the science behind this moisturizer/sunscreen may just convince you. It has SPF 30 with antioxidants and Parsol. It's active ingredients are Avobenzone 2-0%, Meradimate 3.0%, Octinoxate 7.5% and Octisalate 5.0%. All these active ingredients have the one sole purpose -wonderful sunscreen. They help prevent sunburn by providing a broader spectrum protection against UVA and UVB radiation. Did I mention again it has SPF 30 again? It's oil free and fragrance free. It did not feel greasy neither did it cause me to break out at all. It offers rich moisturizing benefits, so it not only nourishes my skin, it also helps to prevent any sunburn. I'm so loving it.
I found this baby from a contest I won at Beauty Chat dubs one reader as the Original Bombshell Contest in May. This wonderful moisturizer/sunscreen is none other than Original Bombshell's Love at First Light SPF 30 Oil-free Daily Facial Moisturizer. Wow, quite a mouthful but trust me ladies, this is the real thing and it's by far one of the best moisturizer/sunscreens that I've ever used before. I'm so grateful to the lovely ladies at Beauty Chat Blog for giving me this fantastic opportunity to try this baby out.
This moisturizer/sunscreen really lasts for a long time since you only need a small amount to cover your entire face. A little really goes a long way. Just see how cute the packaging is? Definitely very chic and cute to be toting it around in your beach bag for all you trendy fashionistas out there. I have my stamp of approval on this 'Love at First Light' and I get to frolick under the sun without feeling guilty that I'm killing my skin. It's definitely a summer must-have!
People, you should all try it, it's really that amazing.
