Gala in the Garden: Beauty Shoutout
This event really touches me as cancer is something that's close to my heart. Also, just recently, I've read from Leeann's blog at Join the Gossip, Christina Applegate is battling cancer herself. I guess it just saddens me that the big C is still a major health problem with women worldwide.
Also, I would like to highlight a little problemme over my comment at Leeann's blog where I used the phrase 'down with cancer'. Now, on reflection, it does sound insensitive but I don't mean to be insensitive at all. In fact, I'm far from that. I meant to express that I'm saddened that another girl has been diagnosed with cancer and do not mean it in a negative way at all. In my family, I have had some close relatives and friends who have lost the battle to cancer and some who are declared cancer free. So, I don't take cancer issues very lightly and it still makes my eyes misty just thinking about it. I apologize if anybody felt I've used the wrong choice of words. Also, I'm not based in the USA, so English is not my first language hence the poor choice of words. [Thanks chica for clarifying that for me :)]. Please excuse me if I've hurt anybody's feelings.
On a more cheery note, let's all make a pact today that we will enjoy a healthier lifestyle (ie. ditch those cancer sticks) and to go for our annual pap and mammogram tests. Prevention is always better than cure.
I really hope Atlanta folks get to attend and support this event and the details are as below:
