The attack of the Parisian bob in Hollywood
I've never really touched any hair topics besides my blue mascara hair days. Still remember that totally embarrasing incident? Anyway, I was browsing Glamour when I knew I just have to post this article up right away.
Apparently, there may be an all-new flattering 'do abuzz in the Hollywood scene. Some of this Tinseltown beauties have exchanged their sexy beach waves for dark cropped-cuts with bangs - alas, only for movie purposes. Differing variations of the Parisian bob that I'm absolutely squealing with delight. I've compiled these hotties according to the movies where they play bob-haired characters. Here's presenting in no sequence at all:
1) Jerry McGuire
Wait a minute, there's no Katie nor bobs in Jerry McGuire, but a tribute should be given in honor of Katie Holmes aka Mrs. Tom Cruise, since she was one of the first celebs to jump on the bob wagon. Katie Holmes has transformed from girl-next-door to va-va-voom with her new 'do. Good call for your new character as Mrs. Tom Cruise...
2) Indiana Jones
Cate Blanchett is somebody I would really love to hate. She could be a witch in Lord of the Rings, has a cool resemblance to Audrey Hepburn and even be Bob Dylan for a movie, she still comes off as naturally beautiful and easy on the eyes. In the 4th installment of Indiana Jones, Cate's strong features brilliantly complements even the harshest of the bobs with a super blunt crop. Cate deserves top billing even if the movie has flagging reviews. Since I'm not so petty, I so do not hate Cate *wink*
3) Speedracer
Christina Ricci has ditched her dark looks since playing the character Wednesday in Adam's Family ages ago and is looking radiant and sunny, with golden locks. However, she has reprived her dark looks once again with Speedracer where she dons a helmet-like cut for her role, Trixie. Christina is t votally ersatile in any cut or makeup style. She so deserves the top avant garde award for that!
4) 21To me, Kate Boxworth is eternally the all American girl personified - blonde, beautiful and sunny. I'm having a major girl crush looking at her in 21 with this awesome chestnut crop. Check out her gorgeous eye shadow and flawless barely-there-makeup. How could you not simply love her? Word has it, she may have knocked Sharon Stone off the throne for glammest casino queen *wink*
5) Get Smart
My, my, I would've never imagined Anne Hathaway with a bob but she totally sizzles with the shiny new 'do in the secret agent spoof, Get Smart. This short cut actually emphasizes her already-strong features more in the spotlight. Anne looks terribly sexy in the movie and tres, tres jolie!! She is definitely on par as one of the sexiest Bond girls even if it's a spoof movie
6) Pulp Fiction
Till today, Pulp Fiction remains as one of my favourite movies ever since 1994. Uma Thurman plays the eternally infamous chain-smoking mob wife Mia. Alot of her appeal lies in the sleek jet-black bob trademark. Can you remember how pissed off your are catching your boyfriend with that precious poster hung on their walls? *wink* Till date, Uma Thurman is still queen of all Hollywood bobs since '94. I'm eager to see who will eventually take over her reign. Meanwhile, Uma/Mia will always be queen of the bobs
Are you willing to trade your 'do for the ever glamourous Parisian bob? Maybe these hotties might just change your mind. Which is your favourite celebrity bob?
