My eyeliner stinks until there's Hourglass: Monday Discoveries
Back to eyeliners, I'm really not fussy about my liquid eyeliners till recently. All along, I've been using different brands such as Dior, Chanel, Maybelline and L'oreal but I always come back to L'oreal. Well, because it's relatively cheap and easily accessible in any drugstore nearby. Yes, I'm a cheapo when it comes to eyeliners. But now, I'm really not happy with my L'oreal Liner Resist Liquid Eyeliner. I feel I have been shortchanging myself when there is defintely something better out there. My current L'oreal is caking on my eyelids which is really horrible. Plus, after it dries, it doesn't stay in place. It smudges and transfers higher up my lids when I blink. I've always had this problem but I guess my threshold for not-so-great eyeliners is really high.
The timing could not be any better, I had the chance to try out a lovely liquid eyeliner by Hourglass Cosmetics thanks to BWR. It's none other than Hourglass's Calligraphy Liquid Eye Liner in Cognac. It has a felt-tip end which to me, makes lining my eyes way, way quicker. How aptly named, Calligraphy! I can literally apply the eyeliner with my eyes closed...almost *wink* So far, no smudges and my liner stays in place. I can guarantee 100% no smudges, smears nor transfers after trying it out. Just perfectly lined eyes from the time I use it till I wash them off. What's not to love, it's waterproof AND moisturizing at the same time. Its active ingredients are some skin loving ingredients such as pearl protein and a blend of botanical ingredients such as Chamomile, Aloe, Rosemary and Perilla. I'm already sold looking at all these skin-loving goodies in it. But, I can assure you, I've not experienced any caking in this eyeliner at all. On the other hand, the color Cognac is a dark brown that has a lovely warm color. It's much more interesting compared to a normal black eyeliner. The cognac color gives my eye makeup a much softer look. Really love it! Perfect for both day and night wear.
This eyeliner is really the creme de la creme of most liquid eyeliners that I've tried before. You have to try it out! I've also had the opportunity to test its mascara, I'll let you know next Monday during my 'Monday Discoveries' segment, which is all about my product reviews for both makeup and skincare products that I love (or loathe). Stay tuned people and have a fantastic Monday
