My precious...not
L'Occitane Immortelle Harvest Precious Cream
Guess what? I really don't fancy it's Precious Cream. It has a very thick consistency, which normally I prefer for my somewhat dry skin. After applying it to my face, it feels like its sitting on top of my skin. Evidently I took a photo of myself recently and the picture turned out as though I have a really very shiny face. Not a nice dewy look, but more like I've ran a mile and back. I prefer a good thick moisturizer that is quickly absorbed into my skin, normally but this is not what it's doing. It does have a nice scent when you scoop it out of the jar but upon application, I thought it smelled 'plasticky'. Their other products in this range do have a nice scent though. I use it both as a day and night cream as it's stated to use it AM and PM. After about a few days' use, I did detect some bumps on my skin. I'm not sure is that a bad coincidence or the consistency of the cream is just too much for my skin. Also, the price is pretty steep at $52.50 per jar for 1.7 oz. Anyhow, I've discontinued it.
I really, really want to like this moisturizer especially since it has grape seed oil as the No.2 ingredient in its ingredient list. You all do know that grape seed oil is good for smoothing lines and wrinkles, no? Maybe any of you out there who has tried this cream before and swears by it? I would like to hear your thoughts. Maybe, I could be convinced to give it another shot and re-evaluate the cream again before it's relegated to the skincare purgatory drawer
