Is Vaseline (mineral oil) bad for you?
That claim is totally untrue and so busted!! It's about time we educate ourselves about it.
The truth - Cosmetics-grade mineral oil and petrolatum are considered the safest, most non-irritating moisturizing ingredients ever found (Sources: Cosmetics & Toiletries, January 2001, page 79; Cosmetic Dermatology, September 2000, pages 44?6). Yes, they can keep air off the skin to some extent, but that's what a good antioxidant is supposed to do; they don't suffocate skin! Moreover, petrolatum and mineral oil are known for being efficacious in wound healing, and are also considered to be among the most effective moisturizing ingredients available (Source: Cosmetics & Toiletries, February 1998, pages 33?0).
Did anyone watch the The Tyra Banks Show? Tyra has revealed her biggest beauty secret EVER. Boxes were handed to audience members as Tyra revealed the contents were her “Eye and Anything Cream.” She counted down to three and the audience went wild as they opened their boxes and discovered a jar of Vaseline, covered in Swvorski crystal! Tyra ran around excitedly shouting that everyone now owned her priceless beauty product…that could be purchased at the local drugstore!
Just some testimony with proven facts that Vaseline is a fantastic product. Do not be sold on myths that mineral oils such as Vaseline suffocates your skin. You skin will thank you for Vaseline
